The idea for LX Data Systems began to form over 25 years ago when Donn Lamoureux founded Lamoureux Associates in Houston, Texas to provide space design services to the Houston commercial real estate community. As Donn worked with a variety of companies to provide accurate drawings and measurements for spaces and buildings, he quickly realized that there was a great need to automate the common tasks performed by the building management community.
He quickly set about developing tools in-house to do exactly that, and for years used these tools to provide better service to his customers. in 1993, he undertook a project known as LX 1.3 which was designed to create the first tools that could be put in customer's hands and give them the capability of managing some of the information themselves. He partnered with VosGo Systems, a custom software development company, to build and market the initial version of this software.
In the ensuing years, under the guidance of Donn and Mike O’Neal, a partner at VosGo with extensive experience in software development, it evolved into a company with an enterprise product known as Site Manager that was extremely well received by its customers. Site Manager provided office building management, corporate portfolio management, and industrial property management functionality to several companies in the commercial real estate world. In the late 1990s, with some success for Site Manager, it became clear that buying and installing software was not really what the real estate community wanted to be doing. They wanted something simpler without the huge up-front costs. They wanted something that would make their jobs easier. Thus, EZtrack was born.
In 1999 Lamoureux Associates began work on a new type of service for commercial properties. Beginning with some long time clients of the space design business, Donn envisioned utilizing the drawings and related data as a starting point for a new expanded service for his clients. Adding in the invaluable lessons learned with the Site Manager product, Lamoureux Associates began to apply the latest technology to provide immediate real time access to Site Manager data and fully accessible CAD files over the Internet. Today, after years of research and development with these ideas as the foundation, EZtrack has been tested at customer sites and is proving viable in the market as a new way to do business.
As of 2004, LX Data Systems was officially formed to take the already successful EZtrack product beyond Lamoureux Associates and on to the national real estate marketplace. We are continually working to build a company that provides the necessary support and associated services that clients need and should expect in order to realize the full benefits of their investment in Portfolio and Lease Management technology & services.
